Lawrence joined the firm as Operations Manager following a very successful career in the British Army.  He enlisted into the Army aged 16 and rose through the ranks of the Royal Tank Regiment until he volunteered for early retirement.  Throughout his Army career he gained a vast wealth of experience across the Human Resource, Financial, Facilities Management and Health & Safety sectors.  He has served across the globe and saw active service in Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Bosnia, Macedonia, Iraq and Afghanistan.  Lawrence was honored by HM The Queen in 1998 by the award of the MBE and received commendations for his achievements in both Bosnia and Afghanistan.  He has also been honored for his military service by other countries; The US Army Achievement Medal and The Distinguished Service Cross of the Estonian Defense Force were awarded to him following a tour of duty in Baghdad.

At Maschio & Soames, Lawrence is responsible for the day-to-day running of all non-technical activity in the firm; his transferrable military experience and skills hugely enhance the running and efficiency of the firm.  His leadership, management and organizational powers have assisted him in establishing his role as Operations Manager.  His reputation for efficiency and detail stand him in excellent stead and he has calmly and effortlessly reorganized operating procedures, all with military precision, of course! 

Lawrence enjoys all aspects of history particularly military history and has a keen interest in antiques. He is also a member of the Army Reserve and volunteers as a Caseworker for SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) and is an Honorary Representative for The Officers’ Association.
